Hello lovely net surfers of Calverton! If like me you are stuck with relatively slow broadband speeds, you can register interest for Superfast broadband though BT Openreach. The more people register interest, the quicker our exchange is likely to be upgraded. The link below should take you straight to the form. www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/expression-gen.aspx

Thanks for that although I thought we were already being upgraded? Loads of OpenReach vans all over the village recently and when I enquired of one engineer was told Infinity would soon be available - at a price of course! I'll probably stick to the slow lane protem, anyway.

It is coming in august 29 and what I can gather that it will double the speed at no extra cost but I belive that when I see it

Is that 2029? As for the rest, I'll believe it when it happens!

What sort of speeds are you getting? I regularly get over 10 mbs and that's with hopeless AOL

I see on Page 11 of the booklet (from GBC with my rates bill) that came today that they are spending over £90000 on "Investing in superfast broadband in our rural communities". So maybe there is hope for us yet ?

Update - Thanks for the responses. I recently switched my ISP to BT to improve speed as they offered to upgrade the line speed. Some doubt and scepticism on my part, but I'm now on BT Faster Total Broadband and the speed has indeed gone up from 6.5mbps to around 12.5mbps download, and from 300kbps to 600kbps upload, so I'm very happy. The engineer said that the woodborough exchange has been upgraded but it depends on where you live in the village as to whether your local cabinet can offer faster speeds. He lives on Main Street and is apparently limited to 6mbps. He said that the exchange should be upgraged around end of August (possibly end of May, again some confusion here) for infinty broadband (free upgrade on BT faster Total Broadband - unlimited use) and that I would get approx 35mbps when this is complete. It sounds like the possibility of line upgrade is very localised and dependent on which part of the village you live in. A check on BT's line tester may give you a more definitive answer as it checks your individual phone line. www.speedtester.bt.com/Some other ISP's should be able to offer a similar line speed if you don't want BT.

A GSXR is a Suzuki 600cc motorcycle, fast as hell, should do 0 60 in less than 3 seconds if you can keep the front wheel down!!
