Any idea why so few Calverton residents bother to sign up and/or post?

You are probably right as some of the posts I have read will have been construed by some as offensive and definitely politically incorrect! Never mind, just keep posting as once we lose the ability to express our opinions we are finished.

Nothing wrong with the truth, none so blind as those that will not see!

Feel free to post as you like ---- this country prides itself with having the ability to use free speech ----- Just visit London and walk past the "fenced off-machine-gun-defended" 10 Downing Street, every day some sect is ranting and raving straight opposite the main entrance..........these people are there voicing their opinions to the "soundproofed" Premier's abode (do they not realise he cannot hear a blooming word)

Thank you, I will although I am sure that at some stage I will manage to offend!

Sometimes words in print don't carry the meaning we want because they are only words and don't have our tone of voice or convey when we are having a lend of someone or being sarcastic.
I haven't posted as regularly for the last year because I've had a big issue going on in my life that's taken up a lot of time and unfortunately will for a while to come yet. I still like reading what others have to say though and add a bit when I have enough time.

Well said - carry on reading and posting whenever you feel like it - it is a great Community asset - pity more people are not aware of it!

Are you a Calverton resident CC or an ex-resident like many of us? What`s the origin of your forum name - or is it confidential? The 'clack' could be the sound of a shuttle going across - - - - I was brought up and lived there for a total of forty years until I left so I`m not Calverton 'born `n bred but did spend most of my formative and early adult life there. I love the posts about Calverton life in the 50s-80s but can`t comment about the modern village as I don`t know it.

Expat - currently resident and have been here, on and off, for almost 50 years. Lots of changes, not always welcome, but not quite as cynical (yet) as Tim! I thought "Clack" was local slang for "Gossip" but maybe I am wrong - afterall I am still regarded as a "Foreigner" even though I did marry a local lass! How did I acquire the "Carrot" Avatar? and what do Smite and Exalt do?
